The mission of The Community Film Workshop Council is to empower community residents to effectively use film, video and television to capture, express and communicate to a broad audience, the diverse visions and voices inherent in our communities; and equip them with the necessary skills to obtain meaningful employment in the film, television and media industries.

Our goals:

To teach minorities the technical and life skills needed for positions in
the broadcast and related industries by providing hands-on job training, classes,
workshops and internships on modern studio-based equipment that ensures
qualified, competitive professionals.
· To promote media industry employment opportunities for CFWC members
through career counseling and the CFWC Job Bank, by developing mutually beneficial
relationships with existing media (TV, cable, radio, film) and business groups
(such as production companies, ad agencies, local advertisers, and educational
institutions, among others).
· To educate corporations, cultural organizations and the community about the benefits of Quality through Diversity by way of press releases, fundraisers, promotional material among others.
· To produce original programming providing news, cultural, educational, and entertainment content of local interest to be delivered by broadcast, internet, and other media.
