The Art of Visual Storytelling

Visual Storytelling is a tool for creating compelling images, montages, narration and music that allows the viewer to suspend belief and become totally immersed in its presentation. This is the tool that successful Directors, Filmmakers, Videographers, Bloggers, Reporters, Screen Writers and Producers must use to tell compelling stories.

What you will learn

Our workshop will teach you storytelling techniques and polish your research, creative, photographic, and interview skills. You will learn to create visuals and editing skills. What you learn and practice in the workshop  can be the basis of advanced production of short or longer form videos.

Your benefits

Learning Visual storytelling will be a tool to enhance or create a new career as well as everything you need to tap into your creative self,  fulfilling your desire for knowledge and success. New technology and the internet provide the opportunity to create high-quality presentations for use as streaming video or professional quality presentations on your own web site, blog or publish them to  YouTube, MySpace, Facebook, Google and other online  media. There is a growing  need for self-contained professionals able to cover assignments with a camera and a laptop, as well as entrepreneurial rewards.

You need

A digital still camera is small enough to fit in your pocket or purse and many offer the ability to shoot video on SD disks. It is a perfect tool for Visual Storytelling as you learn to create, design, write and storyboard narratives, using still  and video images from your digital camera.
Access to a PC with Windows Movie Maker or Mac with I-Movie is required and you will script, storyboard, narrate and edit your projects on your home computer using editing and production techniques you learn in class,
then upload them to the CFWC site on the internet.
